Guide to make a report of the fieldtrip after practical work in the field

  1. TITLE AND DATE
    (On the cover)
  2. STUDENT’S NAME, SPECIALITY AND LEVEL
    (Specified on the cover)
  3. OBJECTIVES
    Explain briefly which aspects do you want to analyse and how are they related with the subject.
  4. GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OF THE STUDIED AREA
    Tell in which geographical setting (regional and physical) you have made the work.
  5. GEOLOGICAL SETTING
    Explain the characteristics of the geological unit of the studied area. If necessary, relate it with other units.
  6. Total or partial DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE. STOPS
    Write down all the stops in order. Write all the observations made in each of them or during the route: materials, structure, landforms and external or internal geological processes deduced.
  7. LIST OF GEOLOGICAL ELEMENTS OBSERVED IN OTHER SETTINGS
    Vegetation, climate, environment, human action (resources, impacts, leisure activities.)
  8. CONCLUSIONS
    A summary of your new knowledge after the field trip. Remarks.
  9. BIBLIOGRAPHY
    Bibliographic references.

  10. FIGURES, PHOTOGRAPHS, SKETCHS, MAPS
    Depending on the length of the report, you can include figures, photographs, maps, etc. at the end of the text or intercalated between sections. You should number and title the foot.

Notes: for the report presentation sheets must be A4 format. Binding and cover depending on the length of the report.
