The fieldwork in geology

About Us

This innovation teaching project funded by DURSI, has been made by first stage of University teachers most of programs of whom is developed in the field. Our aim is to reduce learning difficulties in field and make fieldtrips profitable.

Prof1 Oriol Oms Llobet (Manresa, 1968) is PhD of Geologic Science and assistant professor in the Stratigraphy Area of the Department of Geology of UAB. His investigations are about the study of sedimentary rocks and dating following the paleomagnetism. Most of his work has been made in the Pyrenees, Caucasus chain and Baetic range. He has given many courses and workshops and published some studies about geology popularisation.
Prof5 Enric Vicens Batet (Sant Feliu de Guíxols, 1961) is PhD of Geologic Science for UAB. At present he works as an assistant professor in the Palaeontology Area of the Department of Geology of UAB and his field of investigation is Mesozoic fossil faunas –specially upper cretaceous rudistids (bivalves)-. He is working on Stratigraphy and Palaeontology of the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary (extinction episode) in the Pyrenees. He has given many courses and workshops and made many publications about aspects of Geology popularisation.

UdG

Prof8 David Brusi Belmonte (Verges, 1959) is PhD of Geologic Science (UAB) and lecturer of external geodynamics in UdG. He has developed his investigation in fields such as Hydrogeology, Sedimentology of lacustrine environments and Applied Geology, specially in Girona region. He was dean of the Faculty of Science of the UdG from 1997 to 2003. At present he is Vice-rector of Students and External Relations in the same university. He has worked hard on Geology Didactics writing articles, field guides and textbooks.
